On September the 1st 2017, I started Hosea Clothing and what a journey it has been so far! I just wanted to take some time to thank all of you who have supported this mission by giving a very brief overview of what we have been up in the last 2 years...
I remember on the 31st August 2017 sitting with my brother in the hotel room before our big launch.
Clothes made. Social media channels set up. All that was left to do was to finish the "About Us" section on our website. And we were struggling. I knew that God wanted me to create a Clothing Brand for His glory but what was my mission for this brand? I know what you're thinking... surely I should have had this sorted out way before the day previous to the launch?!
Anyway, after much thought and prayer I knew what Hosea was to be....
A Clothing Brand that accentuates the light of Christ in believers through fashion and at the same time allows them to be bold in faith. This would allow our clothes to be a conversation starter for the user of the product and for any onlookers.
I had come up with this idea as I was proud to be a Christian. But in this fallen world it is becoming increasingly difficult for Christians to be bold in their faith. One would only have to look at the persecution of the underground churches in China for evidence of this. This idea was integrated with the forces behind "the word of mouth." In today's world brands play an integral part in the way that we view each other, the world and everything around us. We often hear friends and family asking the age old question:
"Where did you get that from?"
Thus, our vision in practice was that when this question was proposed to the person wearing our product, they could use it as an opportunity to talk about their faith.
Ever since that day we've had a rollercoaster of a ride visiting 5 events and even holding our first ever Worship Night in Shoreditch. In addition to this, we've shipped our products across the world to countries such as Norway. Denmark, South Africa, Canada and the US! We've learned to create our own products in house (Season 2 onwards) and are still in the works of growing an amazing YouTube Channel.
So as you can see we've done a lot. But we've got so much more to do! But before all of that I just wanted to take some time to say a massive thank you to so many people and organisations.
Firstly, Hosea wouldn't be possible without an amazing team of individuals that work tirelessly to put out the content and message that we're trying to promote. We've now established a regular content team that are dedicated to the cause but this hasn't always been the case. We've received tons of help from photographers, content creators and models that no longer are associated with the brand but have played an integral part in our success. My own church, Pagasa Centre, has also helped to grow our brand. Whether it be the amazing friendship groups that I've developed there (which has created our amazing team of helpers) or the vast volume of orders we receive from the Dagenham church.
Lastly, I wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you who have supported our brand. Whether it be through a follow, a like, a share, a subscription or a purchase - all these things have helped us to keep going and grow this brand for His Kingdom. We are so grateful and blessed!
We've got plenty more in store with Season 6 just around the corner. We can't wait for you to be part of it!
